Day 125 – Favor
Proverbs 19:12 The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
- God’s names:
- YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Elohiym – Supreme God
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- God’s character:
- Wrath
- Favor
If you have ever walked barefoot through morning dew, you know it feels cool and refreshing. It puts a smile on your face, and it feels like the day will be wonderful. Quite the opposite of a day that feels like someone poured out their venom into your life. Their wrath is like a roaring lion. There’s nothing you can do to bring peace when someone wants to ruin your life.
As king, Solomon saw people every day. He brought judgment to offenders and favor to those who displayed integrity in their actions. People sought Solomon’s favor in their lives.
Solomon also needed to be aware of YAHWEH’S wrath. He read the Law and saw the consequences for wrongdoing in the Law. He did his best to bring Elohiym’s favor on his life in everything he did. Which made him a good and wise king. He found Elohiym’s favor felt like morning dew — refreshing.
Whom do you fear? What do you do to gain their favor instead of their wrath?
As children of Yeshuwa, you seek His favor in your life. You don’t want to feel His wrath. The only way to receive His favor is by spending time with Him — reading and studying His Word, going to church, encouraging other believers, spending time in prayer, praying for the needs of others, seeking His will for your life. When you do, His favor will feel like morning dew.
Psalm 119:105 NUN. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalm 23:1 (A Psalm of David.) YAHWEH is my shepherd; I will not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of YAHWEH forever.
When you spend time with Yeshuwa, His Word becomes your lamp to guide you through life. He leads you through life and gives you everything you need. Nothing can come against you when you stay in His will — not Satan, not the distractions he brings, nothing. It is Satan who goes around as a roaring lion. He wants to destroy your relationship with Yeshuwa. You need to stand firm against him.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
We all experience moments of doubt, don’t let doubt derail your faith in Yeshuwa. Stay steadfast. You’re not alone in the battle. Yeshuwa fights by your side to keep you safe from every attack Satan brings against you.
Yeshuwa is your morning dew, He is your favor. Let Him lead you and nourish you in His Word.
Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word refresh my soul every day so that it feels like morning dew, fresh and pleasing to my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
