The movie I expected to hate isn’t only one movie, it’s eight of them. It’s the Harry Potter movies. I had told my grandchildren not to read the books or watch the movies. They didn’t listen to me.
My son moved in with me. He brought with him his entire collection of movies. Among them were the Harry Potter movies. He knew how I felt about them. He dared me to watch the first one. I don’t turn down dares.
I watched the first one, then went back for each one. I love the movies. They are nothing like the hype put out by other Christians when they first came out. It makes me wonder if those Christians watched those movies. It became evident with the first watching, that they were about friendship, loyalty, standing against bullies, and good versus evil. I have now seen those movies countless times and enjoy them more each time I see them. Yes, I love them.
