Day 133 – Protection

Proverbs 19:23 The fear of YAHWEH leads to life, and he who has it will abide in satisfaction; he will not be visited with evil.

God’s names:

  • YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Elohiym – Supreme God
  • Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
  • Theos – Supreme Divinity
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority
  • Pneuma – Violent Wind, Breath, Spirit
  • God’s character:
  • Life
  • Protector

People talk about the good life — everything goes their way; they don’t face any trouble — life is good. However, that good life isn’t reality. Everyone faces trouble of some kind in their lives.

Solomon wasn’t talking about a mysterious life where nothing went wrong. Instead, he said the reverence of YAHWEH led to life, and those who revered Him, would find satisfaction — blessings on their lives. Evil wouldn’t visit them.

When you look at Solomon’s life, you know he had trouble. He had brothers who wanted his throne even before he became king. That same brother wanted to take his father’s concubine for his wife. He had him killed. Then there’s the fact that he had 300 wives and 700 concubines. That alone spells trouble.

So then, how could Solomon write a proverb that said he would live a satisfied life and not see evil if he revered YAHWEH?

As Christians, when you spend time in Yeshuwa’s Word, reading, studying, spending time in His presence daily, spending time with other believers, you build a wall of protection around you that Satan cannot penetrate.

Look at what YAHWEH told Satan when he presented himself before Him and Satan told Him he had gone up and down in the earth. YAHWEH told him there was no one like Job.

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of Elohiym came to present themselves before YAHWEY, and Satan also came among them. 7 And YAHWEH said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered YAHWEH and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” 8 Then YAHWEH said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears Elohiym and shuns evil?” 9 Then Satan answered YAHWEH and said, “Does Job fear Elohiym for nothing? 10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around everything he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.

You have a hedge of protection around you when you spend time in His presence. You also have Elohiym’s armor for your protection. When you wake up every day and put on YAHWEH’S armor, Satan’s fiery darts will not harm you. His armor will deflect everything Satan intends against you.

That’s not living the good life, that’s living under Yeshuwa’s protection. His protection will bring you satisfaction in life. You will know His blessings because you live in reverence of Him.

Have you put on your armor today?

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in Kurios and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of Theos, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the whole armor of Theos, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Pneuma, which is the word of Theos; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Pneuma, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

With Theos’ protection covering you every day, Satan cannot come against you. You will live a full and satisfied life when you live in Him.

Let’s pray: Father, let my life reflect Your protection as I give You reverence every day and put on Your armor daily, spending time with You in Your Word. Keep Satan far from me as Your Word declares and bless me because I love You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
