Day 140 – Counselor

Proverbs 20:5 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.

• YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
• Hagios Pneuma – Sacred, Holy, Violent Wind, Breath, Spirit
• Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
• Soter – Savior
• Kurios – Supreme Authority, Lord

• God’s character:
• Counselor
• Peace
• Understanding
• Wisdom
• Helper
• Companion

Have you ever felt the need to talk to someone? Who did you go to? A valued friend because you trust them would be the first person you would turn to. Their counsel in the past was reliable. You could talk over your plans and come away with a new direction or a confirmed direction. It gave you peace of mind that you were walking with a clear heart and mind.

Solomon had trusted advisors he could go to concerning running the kingdom, but his true counsel came from YAHWEH. It was YAHWEH who gave him wisdom and understanding to rule the kingdom. It was YAHWEH who directed him in appointing advisors. It was YAHWEH whose path he trusted.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in YAHWEH with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

Man was not meant to walk through this life alone. We need people to counsel us and show us the way.

When you became a Christian, you gained the greatest Counselor for your Christian life — the Hagios Pneuma. Yeshuwa promised He would teach you everything.

John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Hagios Pneuma, whom the Pater will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance everything that I said to you.

As you walk through your Christian life, you need help. Yeshuwa provided that help when you accepted Him as your Soter and Kurios — the Hagios Pneuma is your Helper, your Comforter, your Companion who walks beside you every day. He keeps step with you in every decision you make and will point out the best direction if you will let Him. You have no better companion to walk with you on the path Yeshuwa laid out for you. You’re never alone. Trust Him today. Seek His counsel and let Him lead you.

Let’s pray: Father, You are my Counselor, my Friend, my Teacher. Help me turn to You when I lose my direction and can’t find the path. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
