Day 141 – Trustworthy

Proverbs 20:6 Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man? 7 The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.

  • God’s names:
  • YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
  • Pater – Father
  • God’s character:
  • Goodness
  • Faithful
  • Righteous
  • Trustworthy

People will try to tell you they are good, faithful, trustworthy, people of integrity, but their actions speak for themselves. True people of integrity don’t need to convince you; their lives speak for themselves.

Solomon saw many people every day. He knew who he could trust and who he couldn’t. Those who were untrustworthy were like rain clouds without rain. He also had YAHWEH to guide him to those he could trust.

Proverbs 25:14 Whoever falsely boasts of giving is like clouds and wind without rain.

As Christians, it’s easy to see who is trustworthy and who isn’t. Those who are dependable will volunteer their time and services without delay and show up. Untrustworthy Christians will say they will help but never show up.

Faithful people are hard to find inside and outside the church. They are part of the 20% who show up, who help without being asked. They give without expecting anything in return. If they hold out their hand, it’s because there’s something in it to help someone else. They don’t hold out their hands expecting someone to fill them.

There are givers and takers in the world. Unfortunately, takers make up 80% of the people. They don’t help anyone except themselves. Givers hold nothing back.

Yeshuwa told the people they would be known by their fruit.

John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and My Pater is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the words which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it will be done for you. 8 By this My Pater is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

You call Yeshuwa good, faithful, righteous, and trustworthy. Why? Because He always did what He said He would. You are to be like Him — people who can be counted on to help wherever and whenever there is a need. Those are the people who find countless blessings in their lives and whose children also bless them.

Are you trustworthy?

Let’s pray: Father, let my life bear fruit for You as a faithful and trustworthy servant. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
