Day 143 – Compassion

Proverbs 20:12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye, YAHWEH made them both.

  • God’s names:
  • YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
  • Hagios Pneuma – Sacred, Holy, Violent Wind, Breath, Spirit
  • Soter – Savior
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority, Lord
  • God’s character:
  • Creator
  • Compassionate

People take their senses for granted until they lose them. Some people were born without their eyesight or hearing. They never saw the beauty that surrounds them or heard the songs of nature.

Solomon had a moment of reflection when he acknowledged YAHWEH made his eyes and ears so he could enjoy the beauty He created in the earth. He also knew that just as he could hear and see, YAHWEH heard and saw the intents of his heart.

Psalm 94:9 He who planted the ear, will He not hear? He who formed the eye, will He not see?

YAHWEH sees and hears everything a person does. He knows the intents of your heart.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, you knew in that moment that He heard and saw you. It’s why you confessed your sin when you accepted Him. You realized you couldn’t hide from Him. You asked for His eyes and ears of compassion for the people you see every day.

It takes a special eyesight to see people the way Yeshuwa sees them. It takes the discernment of the Hagios Pneuma to hear what people want and direct them to Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios.

It was no accident the day you made Yeshuwa your Soter and Kurios. Someone saw you the same way Yeshuwa sees you and had compassion for you and prayed for you.

Matthew 9:35 Then Iesous went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore, pray the Kurios of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Yeshuwa gave you eyes and ears to see the needs of the people you see every day. When you use His eyes and ears, you will pray for them and have compassion for them.

Let’s pray: Father, give me Your eyes and ears so I can see people the way you see them and have compassion for them. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
