Day 150 – Peacemaker
Proverbs 20:19 He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; therefore, do not associate with one who flatters with his lips.
- God’s names:
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- God’s character:
- Love
- Peacemaker
If you weren’t an only child, someone in your family told your parents every time you did something wrong. People don’t like those who tattle on others. They avoid them like the plague.
Solomon had three-hundred wives and seven hundred concubines, that meant he also had many children. He knew which of his wives, concubines, and children freely told everyone about their siblings and their rivals. He gave this advice to them whenever they complained to him about their siblings and rivals. You can’t trust people who always tattled. Solomon’s advice — stay away from them.
Scripture calls people who tattle on others — busybodies. They are forever poking their nose in your business. You can’t trust them, not in church, not in your community, not in your family.
1 Thessalonians 4:9 But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by Theos to love one another; 10 and indeed you do so toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; 11 that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, 12 that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.
1 Peter 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. (NKJV)
If you feel you need to speak to anyone, take the matter to Yeshuwa alone. He already knows the situation better than you. He will listen and guide you. Once you give your troubles to Him, His peace will rest on you, and you can go about your daily routine with a smile on your face.
Yeshuwa told the people what brings about blessings in their lives in the Beatitudes.
Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of Theos.
Matthew 6:5 “And when you pray, you should not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Pater who is in the secret place; and your Pater who sees in secret will reward you openly.
The only reward a talebearer gets is people who avoid him. Are you a talebearer? Do you want blessings in your life? Take every matter to Yeshuwa. You’re not telling Him anything He does not already know. He will give you peace and blessings — and friends.
Be a peacemaker, not a busybody.
Let’s pray: Father, help me to take every matter to You and not be seen as a busybody, meddling in other people’s business. I want Your blessings in my life, not your censorship. Let the words I speak honor You and not disgrace me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
