People often feel like they go from one crisis to another without any pause between. They feel crushed by life’s circumstances.

In ancient Israel, the Israelites used a threshing wheel to sift the grain from the husks so they could use the grain for their food. Solomon used the threshing wheel to describe what YAHWEH did to His people when they disobeyed Him. He would thresh them, bring His judgment against them, not to crush them, but to refine them so they could be useful for Him.

Solomon did the same thing; he brought judgment against those who offended the throne and YAHWEH, not to crush them, but to discipline them so they would obey the laws of Elohiym.

Many Christians don’t understand that when they said yes to Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, they were also saying goodbye to their old life and allowing Him to thresh them to bring out the best they could be for Him.

Your trials didn’t end when you became a Christian, they amplified. You no longer belonged to Satan, who brought his own brand of trouble to your life so you would conform to him and live the good life. As long as you lived under his authority, you didn’t feel the threshing he put you through. You saw the trouble, but he told you what to do to get out from under the threshing wheel. It wasn’t until you became a Christian and saw what your life was like before that you realized the threshing you underwent wasn’t from Satan but from Yeshuwa.

Habakkuk 3:3 Elowahh came from Teman, the Qadowsh from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise. 4 His brightness was like the light; He had rays flashing from His hand, and there His power was hidden. 5 Before Him went pestilence, and fever followed at His feet. 6 He stood and measured the earth; He looked and startled the nations. And the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills bowed. His ways are everlasting. 7 I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; the curtains of the land of Midian trembled. 8 O YAHWEH, were You displeased with the rivers, was Your anger against the rivers, was Your wrath against the sea, that You rode on Your horses, Your chariots of salvation? 9 Your bow was made quite ready; oaths were sworn over Your arrows. Selah You divided the earth with rivers. 10 The mountains saw You and trembled; The overflowing water passed by. The deep uttered its voice and lifted its hands on high. 11 The sun and moon stood still in their habitation; at the light of Your arrows, they went at the shining of Your glittering spear. 12 You marched through the land in indignation; You trampled the nations in anger. 13 You went forth for the salvation of Your people, for salvation with Your Mashiyach. You struck the head from the house of the wicked, by laying bare from foundation to neck. Selah 14 You thrust through with his own arrows the head of his villages. They came out like a whirlwind to scatter me; their rejoicing was like feasting on the poor in secret. 15 You walked through the sea with Your horses, through the heap of great waters.

It is for your salvation that Yeshuwa threshed you. You once belonged to Satan and did his will. Now you belong to Yeshuwa and he will refine you as silver and try you as gold.

Zechariah 13:7 “Awake, O sword, against My Ra’ah, against the Man who is My Companion,” says JEHOVAH Tsaba. Strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; then I will turn My hand against the little ones. 8 And it will come to pass in all the land,” says YAHWEH, “that two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, but one-third will be left in it: 9 I will bring the one-third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; and each one will say, ‘YAHWEH is my Elohiym.’”

1 Peter 1:6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Iesous Christos, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith — the salvation of your souls.

Everything you experience is for your salvation. Yeshuwa doesn’t thresh you to crush you but to bring out your best for His glory.

Isaiah 43:1 But now, thus says YAHWEH, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, Nor will the flame scorch you. 3 For I am YAHWEH your Elohiym, The Qadowsh of Israel, your Yasha; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place. 4 Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you; therefore, I will give men for you, and people for your life. 5 Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east and gather you from the west; 6 I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth— 7 Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”

Does Yeshuwa have you in the threshing floor? Is He refining you? Rejoice because when He finishes your threshing and refining, you will shine forth for His glory.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for being with me as you thresh out the bad stuff in my life and refine me for Your glory. Bring out the best in me so that I shine for You and am a willing vessel for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
