Day 162 – Life
Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of YAHWEH, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but YAHWEH weighs the hearts. 3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to YAHWEH than sacrifice.
- God’s names:
- YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Bara – Creator
- Elohiym – Supreme God
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- Christos – Anointed one, Messiah
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- God’s character:
- Life
- Righteous
- Just
People believe they are in charge of their lives. They balk at the idea of trusting someone else with their life. They make plans. They decide the course of their lives without concern about whether their actions are justified or right.
Solomon knew who guided his life. He saw that in his father, David, who trusted YAHWEH in almost everything. He also knew the consequences of not trusting YAHWEH. Solomon was a man who started and ended his life trusting YAHWEH. The middle of his life got a little mixed up and his heart wavered from YAHWEH, but he returned to YAHWEH and praised Him for his life.
Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember now your Bara in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”:
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear Elohiym and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. 14 For Elohiym will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.
Nothing is hidden from Elohiym. He knows your secrets. Therefore, Solomon told the people everything they did was in YAHWEH’S hands. He saw their actions and more importantly, He saw the motives of their hearts when they made their sacrifices.
What did you think when you gave your life to Yeshuwa? Did you think you could still do the same thing you did before you gave Him your life?
I know what I thought. I thought all my troubles would suddenly disappear and my life would be good from then on. I quickly learned that giving your life to Yeshuwa isn’t easy. In fact, it’s harder. When you trade your life from Satan’s hold on you, to Yeshuwa’s life flowing through you, Satan will do everything he can to bring trouble your way. He doesn’t give up control over people — not without a fight.
The only way to live the life Yeshuwa has for you is to spend time with Him every day. Read your Bible. Pray. Gather with other believers around His Word in Bible study, church, and other social activities where you enjoy the fellowship of other believers. When you do, those sacrifices you thought would be hard, become easy. You won’t want to follow the way of the world any longer and Satan will lose all control over your life.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christos Iesous for good works, which Theos prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
When you live your life fully dedicated to Yeshuwa, He will walk with you every step of the way, guarding you from the wicked schemes of the devil.
Let’s pray: Father, my life belongs to You. Guard it and lead me through this life because I trust in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
