Day 165 – Honesty
Proverbs 21:6 Getting treasures by a lying tongue is the fleeting fantasy of those who seek death. 7 The violence of the wicked destroys them, because they refuse to do justice. 8 The way of a guilty man is perverse; but as for the pure, his work is right.
- God’s names:
- YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- Soter – Savior
- Kurios – Supreme Authority
- God’s character:
- Just
Jails and prisons are filled with people who thought they could lie and cheat their way through life.
Solomon dealt with people every day. He heard their sales pitches and knew whether they were honest or lying. He knew the only way to walk through life was with honesty and the fear of YAHWEH. He knew that if a liar died without getting caught, they would still face YAHWEH.
Christians who think they can do as they please, say what they want to get ahead find they can’t. Their ways will find them out and they will reap the rewards of their dishonest life. Yeshuwa expects honesty from His children.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of Theos? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of Theos.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. (NKJV)
When you said yes to Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, you also committed to living your life with honesty and uprightness before Him.
What kind of life are you living? Do you have people fooled by your outward appearance? Remember, Yeshuwa knows your heart and will not hold you guiltless. Confess your sins and change your ways so that when you face Yeshuwa, you won’t be standing outside but will be with Him for eternity.
Let’s pray: Father, give me a clear conscience in everything I say and do, knowing that You will judge everything I say and do in this life when I face You. Let my life show Your love as I walk in honesty before You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
