Day 171 – Love

Proverbs 21:19 Better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and angry woman.

  • God’s names:
  • YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
  • Abba/Pater – Father
  • God’s character:
  • Love

When a person is angry, everyone becomes their target. Children don’t want to spend time in the same room with them. Spouses find excuses not to come home. Coworkers will stay as far from them as possible. In short, angry people don’t have friends. Angry people find fault with everything and everyone. Their mouths never stop complaining from the moment they wake up in the morning until they go to bed at night.

No one knew about angry and contentious women better than Solomon with his three hundred wives and seven hundred concubines. I wouldn’t want to be in his harem with women who did nothing but complain about everything. He learned quickly which of his one thousand women he wanted to spend time with. A pretty face is not a recommendation when the woman is quarrelsome. Those kinds of women would drive him to the Torah and communion with YAHWEH.

What brought you to Yeshuwa? Did you find yourself wandering lonely streets because you needed to get away from the contentions of your home? Were you the one people wanted to stay away from because anger ruled your life? What did you find when you met Yeshuwa at the foot of the cross?

To say that Yeshuwa never got angry would be to misquote Scripture. However, those times when He was angry were not directed at the person as much as what they did. He overthrew the tables of the moneychangers because they sold merchandise on the temple porch. He told the people the character of the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Scribes who did everything for gain not because they were men who loved YAHWEH. Yeshuwa’s whole purpose was to point the people to YAHWEH His Abba. He did that by showing people His Abba’s love.

Love guided Yeshuwa, not anger. He told parables about His Abba and how much He loved them. You are to imitate Yeshuwa, even in your anger.

Ephesians 4:26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil. (NKJV)

There is a right way to live your life and a wrong way. To be angry without cause is the wrong way. Your anger should be directed at fixing a problem not promoting it.

Let Yeshuwa show you how to change your anger which produces rotten fruit, into righteous anger that changes people’s lives for the better. You don’t need to be angry and complain about everything. Let Yeshuwa show you how to love even when you’re angry.

Let’s pray: Father, take my anger and change me into a person who always shows love, even when angry. Don’t let me be a puppet for Satan who wants to direct my anger into something evil for his purposes. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
