Day 173 – Peace
Proverbs 21:21 He who follows righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness and honor.
- God’s names:
- YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- God’s character:
- Righteous
- Merciful
- Honor
- Life
What does the good life look like for you? Is it a life of peace, getting along with others, treating people like you want to be treated, lots of friends, few friends, being social? People want a good life. They want to look back on their life and see how even the bad times made life worthwhile.
Solomon knew that the only way to a good life was to follow righteousness and mercy. When he did, he found life, righteousness, and honor could only be found in YAHWEH. YAHWEH didn’t promise life without hardship, but He did promise that if you lived your life through Him, you would find true happiness. Solomon learned that through the many problems he faced in his life. He was a king who had a peaceful reign, but it wasn’t without trouble.
Yeshuwa told His disciples that in this life you will have tribulations and sorrows.
John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (NKJV)
Yeshuwa overcame every trouble and problem a person could face and showed us by His very nature that we could have peace in the middle of our trouble, we only needed to pursue His righteousness and mercy.
John 17:15 “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. (NKJV)
What does your life look like? When you pursue the things of Yeshuwa, He will bring you through every trouble Satan brings against you. Let Him be your guide and compass. When you do, you will find Him walking the same road with you. No matter what you face, you can be assured of His peace in your life when you pursue Him.
Let’s pray: Father, let my life be one of pursuit of your grace, mercy, peace, and righteousness that can only be found in Your Son. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
