Day 179 – Righteousness

Proverbs 21:29 A wicked man hardens his face, but as for the upright, he establishes his way.

• Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
• Theos – Supreme Divinity

• Righteous

Have you known people who wouldn’t listen to you, but would shut you out as soon as you opened your mouth or entered a room? Then there are those who welcome you as soon as you walk into a room and are ready to listen to anything you say.

As king, Solomon saw any number of people every day. He knew the ones he could talk to and the ones who wouldn’t listen but wanted to promote their ideas over whatever anyone else wanted to do. He called those people wicked. However, those who followed YAHWEH, prospered.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in YAHWEH with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will direct your paths.

Solomon followed that verse with more wisdom.

Proverbs 3:7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear YAHWEH and depart from evil.

The best thing to do in those situations is to wait for someone to ask you what you would do in a given situation. Then your ideas will be welcome, even if someone in the room grumbles about them.

As Christians, you face decisions every day. There is one who pushes his unwelcome thoughts and ideas on you. You hear Satan’s voice every day when you welcome those unhealthy thoughts. Yeshuwa said there were two paths you could follow in life. One led to destruction and the other to life.

Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (NKJV)

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. (NKJV)

James had another solution for you.

James 4:7 Therefore submit to Theos. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

When you arm yourselves in Yeshuwa’s armor, you can discern the thoughts that try to enter in and deflect them with Yeshuwa’s Word.

Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of Theos, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the whole armor of Theos, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. — 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Yeshuwa didn’t only give you examples about how to resist Satan and his wicked thoughts; He showed how to resist Him when Satan tempted Him in the wilderness for forty days. He used the Word to deflect every temptation. You can do the same thing — using Elohiym’s Word against him.

Psalm 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You!

You have all the tools you need to deflect wickedness from coming near you. Yeshuwa expects you to use them.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for Your Word that helps me deflect everything Satan tries to use against me. Help me store Your Word in my heart so that when Satan comes knocking, I have Your tools to use against him. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
