A wise man knows how to read the times he lives in. He can see the dangers hidden in plain sight and stays away from them, while foolish people rush headlong into trouble and find punishment as their reward. The wise man lives a life of honor and humility, the envy of every foolish person.
Solomon knew it took wisdom given to him by YAHWEH to navigate life. With YAHWEH, he could steer clear of danger, while those who didn’t pay attention to YAHWEH ran headlong wherever their foolishness led them and found punishment as their reward. Solomon knew that when he revered YAHWEH his reward would be life, honor, and riches.
Psalm 112:1 Praise YAHWEH! Blessed is the man who fears YAHWEH, who delights greatly in His commandments. 2 His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.
Yeshuwa told a parable about a wise and foolish builder. The wise man built on rock so that when the troubles of life stormed against him, his life wouldn’t crumble. The foolish builder built his life on his desires. When life’s storms came against him, his life crumbled into ruin. The wise builder knew life was dangerous and prepared for it. The foolish builder didn’t prepare for the storms and lost everything.
Matthew 7:24 “Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, you declared you were building your life on Him, the Rock. Yet so many Christians don’t heed the warnings and rush foolishly into life, believing that their Christianity will save them from whatever comes their way. They don’t realize they need to build a strong foundation for their lives. A strong foundation consists in daily Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with other believers.
A life built on the Word of Yeshuwa will keep them safe from the storms of life. You will see Satan’s schemes and arm yourself with Yeshuwa’s Word. If your life doesn’t have the proper foundation, you will flounder. You won’t know honor, riches, or life. Only by living a humble life before Yeshuwa, will you know His blessings.
Paul talked about the wise master builder.
1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are Theos’ fellow workers; you are Theos’ field; you are Theos’ building. 10 According to the grace of Theos which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed of how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Iesous Christos.
Are you wise or are you foolish? What is the foundation of your life?
Let’s pray: Father, help me build my life on Your Word. You are my Rock and sure foundation. When Satan comes against me, let Your Word rise in me as my life stands strong against whatever he might bring against me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
