Day 184 – Reconciliation

Proverbs 22:5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse; he who guards his soul will be far from them.

  • God’s names:
  • YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
  • Huios – Son
  • Theos – Supreme Divinity
  • Soter – Savior
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority
  • Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
  • God’s character:
  • Just
  • Honorable
  • Righteous

Perverse people — rebellious, stubborn, wicked — find trouble following them wherever they go, usually all the way to jail and prison. Those who guard their lives from evil will find the opposite is true. They do what is right and good for themselves and the people with whom they work and socialize.

As king and landowner, he saw every kind of person come through his courts and work in his fields. He knew the troublemakers and those who kept themselves from evil as much as they could. Those were also the ones who obeyed the laws of YAHWEH, doing what was right and lawful in His eyes as well.

Proverbs 15:19 The way of the lazy man is like a hedge of thorns, but the way of the upright is a highway.

When you said yes to Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, you committed your life to obedience in Him. You left your stubborn, rebellious nature behind.

2 Corinthians 5:16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christos according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christos, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of Theos, who has reconciled us to Himself through Iesous Christos, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that Theos was in Christos reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

1 John 5:18 We know that whoever is born of Theos does not sin; but he who has been born of Theos keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. 19 We know that we are of Theos, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. 20 And we know that the Huios of Theos has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Huios Iesous Christos. This is the true Theos and eternal life.

Now you might be telling yourself that you’re a sinner. Yes, you are. We all are, but when you sin, you confess it to Theos and He forgives you and doesn’t remember your sin, which is why John said you’re no longer sinners. You confess your sin and the righteousness of Theos rests on you.

Your old ways are just that, old ways. They won’t follow you into your new life. You guard your soul from those things that drew you before you accepted Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios. When you do, you will know the unconditional love and joy found only in Yeshuwa.

Have you given up your old ways and surrendered your perverse nature to Yeshuwa? Is He dwelling in you, making you a new creation in Him? Confess your sin and know what it feels like to be fully clean by the blood of Christos.

Let’s pray: Father, I am a sinner. Every day I do something that takes me out of Your will for my life. I confess my sins right now. Forgive me. Cleanse me with the precious blood of Your Son. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
