Day 187 – Rebellion

Proverbs 22:8 He who sows iniquity will reap sorrow, and the rod of his anger will fail.

  • God’s names:
  • YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Elohiym – Supreme God
  • Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
  • God’s character:
  • Good

Everyone shows a rebellious nature at some point in their lives. It isn’t for no reason they call it the terrible twos when toddlers are trying to conquer their space. However, some people never grow out of the terrible twos. Their life is full of trouble and no matter what they do, they dig a deeper pit that is impossible to climb out of.

Solomon was not only a king and landlord, but he was also a son and brother. There was enough trouble in his family to see the signs brewing of what they sowed daily. Solomon knew the only help he could get in life was from YAHWEH who gave the path of life in the Law. His father, David, was a good example of how to live a life in peace with Elohiym.

Proverbs 6:12 A worthless person, a wicked man, walks with a perverse mouth; 13 he winks with his eyes, he shuffles his feet, he points with his fingers; 14 perversity is in his heart, he devises evil continually, he sows discord. 15 Therefore, his calamity will come suddenly; suddenly he will be broken without remedy. 16 These six things YAHWEH hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil,

19 a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.

What was your life like before you said yes to Yeshuwa? Were you rebellious, always in trouble with no way out? What has your life been like since you said yes to Him?

When Saul disobeyed YAHWEH, He took the kingdom from him and gave it to David.

1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of YAHWEH, He also has rejected you from being king.”

Many Christians believe they can do whatever they want and Yeshuwa will bless them. They don’t pray about what they want to do, they just go ahead and do it and then find nothing but trouble.

Before you start a project, you think is from Yeshuwa, pray, seek His face. You will know when the project is from Him and when it’s your desire. Not everything we want is from Yeshuwa. You need to listen to His voice, not yours, and pray. Always pray first. It’s the only way you can know whether what you want to do is from Him.

Let’s pray: Father, help me to stop and pray when I want to step out and do something I believe honors You. Let Your will be done in my life and not my will. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
