Day 195 – Provision

Proverbs 22:16 He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches, and he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty.

The biggest complaint in any age is inflation. Prices keep going up and poor people struggle to pay the inflated living expenses. The only one getting rich is the person raising the prices while those raising the prices keep you in poverty.

Solomon was the wealthiest person of his time or any time. He understood how people gained their wealth and how the wealthy kept poor people in poverty. Yet Solomon had one thing in his favor, He also understood YAHWEH was the one who increased a person’s wealth.

Deuteronomy 8:10 “When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless YAHWEH your Elohiym for the good land which He has given you. 11 Beware that you do not forget YAHWEH your Elohiym by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, 12 lest — when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; 13 and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; 14 when your heart is lifted up, and you forget YAHWEH your Elohiym who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; 15 who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock; 16 who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end — 17 then you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’ 18 “And you shall remember YAHWEH your Elohiym, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. 19 Then it will be, if you by any means forget YAHWEH your Elohiym, and follow other elohiyms, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you will surely perish. 20 As the nations which YAHWEH destroys before you, so you will perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of YAHWEH your Elohiym.

How does YAHWEH provide your wealth when all you see around you is poverty and the rich get richer and the poor get poorer? When you obey and trust Elohiym, He will provide everything you need.

Many Christians when they said yes to Yeshuwa, believed all their troubles were over. They would have everything they needed, and they would see those who kept them poor brought to justice. It doesn’t work that way. If you were poor before you gave your life to Yeshuwa, you will be poor after. The only thing that changes your status is obedience and trust.

Yeshuwa gave the people a parable about where people put their trust.

Matthew 6:19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 The lamp of the body is the eye. If, therefore, your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If, therefore, the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve Theos and mammon. 25 Therefore, I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Pater feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if Theos so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore, do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Pater knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of Theos and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Throughout the Bible, Elohiym promises to take care of you. You only need to trust him. When the rent or mortgage goes up, when food prices seem unreachable, when your income doesn’t look like it reaches far enough to pay your bills — remember Elohiym’s promises to take care of everything you need.

Mark 10:29 Then Iesous answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time — houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions — and in the age to come, eternal life.

Philippians 4:19 And my Theos will supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christos Iesous.

You don’t need to complain about the cost of living going beyond your means when Yeshuwa is the one who provides everything you need. Yes, the rich will try to take your income, and food prices and bills will keep going up, but when you know the Supplier of your daily needs, nothing will alarm you. Your trust is in Yeshuwa who supplies everything you need.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you that I can depend on You for everything I need. When the bills go up, turn my focus on You and not my income. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
