Day 196 – Knowledge

Proverbs 22:17 Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise and apply your heart to my knowledge; 18 for it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you; let them all be fixed upon your lips, 19 so that your trust may be in YAHWEH; I have instructed you today, even you. 20 Have I not written to you excellent things of counsel and knowledge, 21 that I may make you know the certainty of the words of truth, that you may answer words of truth to those who send to you?

Teachers stand before their classrooms guiding their students in words of wisdom and instruction for the various classes they teach. Whether the students are in elementary or college, they hope to impart knowledge and understanding so the students will excel.

Solomon knew YAHWEH was his teacher and the law was his textbook. From it he learned what YAHWEH expected from His people. YAHWEH guided His people with words of wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 1:1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel: 2 To know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding, 3 to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity; 4 to give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion— 5 A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, 6 to understand a proverb and an enigma, the words of the wise and their riddles. 7 The fear of YAHWEH is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Psalm 119:9 BETH. How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. 10 With my whole heart I have sought You; oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! 11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You! 12 Blessed are You, O YAHWEH! Teach me Your statutes! 13 With my lips I have declared all the judgments of Your mouth. 14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate on Your precepts and contemplate Your ways. 16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

Solomon studied the Law. He knew that only when he studied, he would receive wisdom, knowledge, and counsel.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, you committed your life to learning everything you could about Yeshuwa and YAHWEH, His Abba. The only way you can do that is through Bible study.

2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

When you open your Bible every day, you touch Yeshuwa’s heart, you hear His voice. You know His expectations for you. There is no other way to know Elohiym except to study His Word. You can go to church, attend Bible studies, and pray, but if you don’t open the Word yourself, you won’t know whether what you’re learning is truly from Elohiym.

Through study, you receive wisdom, knowledge, instruction, and counsel. You know they are words of truth, truth that will set you free.

John 8:31 Then Iesous said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

Yeshuwa’s Word sets you free from false teaching. It gives you understanding and knowledge. It gives you discernment and counsel. Yeshuwa’s Word gives you everything you need for your life.

When was the last time you opened your Bible? When you read my Bible studies, do you check out the Bible and read for yourself to make certain I’m not leading you astray? There is only one way to know that the Bible studies you read, the sermons you listen to, or what you hear from fellow Christians is true — when you open your Bible and read it for yourself. All the Bible studies you read won’t do you any good if you don’t open your Bible and read Yeshuwa’s Word.

Open His Word today and receive wisdom, counsel, and instruction. It will change your life.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for giving me Your Word so that I can read and study it daily. Guide me in Your knowledge and teach me what You want me to know today. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
