Day 219 – Trust

Proverbs 24:19 Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the wicked; 20 for there will be no prospect for the evil man; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

Turn on the news for a few minutes and you can see the turmoil the world is in. Wars in every part of the world. Crime on every street. It doesn’t look like anyone is or could be good. Yet, there is always a spark of hope if you look for it.

Solomon told the people not to worry about evildoers. He knew they were everywhere. He also knew YAHWEH would snuff out their lamp. There was only one prospect for wicked people — separation from YAHWEH.

Asaph paints a clear picture of what evildoers are like and what will become of them.

Psalm 73:1 (A Psalm of Asaph.) Truly Elohiym is good to Israel, to such as are pure in heart. 2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; my steps had nearly slipped. 3 For I was envious of the boastful, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. 4 For there are no pangs in their death, but their strength is firm. 5 They are not in trouble as other men, nor are they plagued like other men. 6 Therefore, pride serves as their necklace; violence covers them like a garment. 7 Their eyes bulge with abundance; they have more than heart could wish. 8 They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression; they speak loftily. 9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walks through the earth. 10 Therefore, his people return here, and waters of a full cup are drained by them. 11 And they say, “How does Elohiym know? And is there knowledge in Elyown?” 12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who are always at ease; they increase in riches. 13 Surely, I have cleansed my heart in vain and washed my hands in innocence. 14 For all day long I have been plagued and chastened every morning. 15 If I had said, “I will speak thus,” Behold, I would have been untrue to the generation of Your children. 16 When I thought how to understand this, it was too painful for me— 17 Until I went into the sanctuary of Elohiym; then I understood their end. 18 Surely, You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction. 19 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors. 20 As a dream when one awakes, so, Adonay, when You awake, You will despise their image. 21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was vexed in my mind. 22 I was so foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You. 23 Nevertheless, I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. 24 You will guide me with Your counsel and afterward receive me to glory. 25 Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. 26 My flesh and my heart fail; but Elohiym is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. 27 For indeed, those who are far from You will perish; You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry. 28 But it is good for me to draw near to Elohiym; I have put my trust in Adonay Y@hovih, That I may declare all Your works.

Evildoers will not escape Elohiym’s judgment.

As Christians, you need to remember what Solomon said about the wicked. David said the same thing.

Psalm 37:1 (A Psalm of David.) Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2 For they will soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

You see them walk the streets of your neighborhood. You need have no fear of them. They cannot harm you.

Yeshuwa told the people who they should fear.

Matthew 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Even if you should die at the hands of evildoers, your soul is safe. It is why Christians could face lions in the Roman arenas. It’s why Stephen wasn’t afraid when they stoned him. It’s why Christians go into those parts of the world, knowing that the name of Yeshuwa is a death sentence. Their souls were safe with Yeshuwa. No matter how evil the world became, nothing could destroy them.

When you look at the news, give Theos praise that He will deal with those who cause trouble for innocent people. The only thing you need to do is pray and seek Yeshuwa. He will take care of you. It’s His promise as seen throughout Scripture.

Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If Theos is for us, who can be against us?

Look what Paul said about what can separate you from Yeshuwa.

Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of Theos which is in Christos Iesous our Kurios.

There is an end of evildoers and all those who attempt to turn you away from Yeshuwa — permanent separation from Him. Yeshuwa will not let anything come near your dwelling when you trust Him.

Psalm 91:9 Because you have made YAHWEH, who is my refuge, Even Elyown, your dwelling place, 10 no evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your dwelling; 11 for He will give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

Evildoers have their future locked in place if they don’t turn their lives around and seek Yeshuwa. Remember, Yeshuwa is patient. He gives everyone the opportunity to change and turn to Him.

2 Peter 3:9 The Kurios is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

There is always hope. So don’t worry about what evildoers can do to you. Pray for them. Theos can change them. He’s the only one who can.

Let’s pray: Father, help me to pray for those who want to destroy my life and those around me. Help me to trust You when Satan comes against me because I know it isn’t flesh and blood that comes against me, but Satan. Fill me with Your Word and hope as I stand on Your promises. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
