Day 221 – Judgment

Proverbs 24:23 These things also belong to the wise: it is not good to show partiality in judgment. 24 He who says to the wicked, “You are righteous,” Him the people will curse; nations will abhor him. 25 But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them. 26 He who gives the right answer kisses the lips.

People love to quote sayings. Whether it’s a famous proverb, quote from a famous person, or something they read, sayings make people feel good.

Solomon is famous for his proverbs. His proverbs touch every area of life, every kind of person, and YAHWEH’S nature. He gave several in the verses above. He told the people not to show partiality in judgment or to call wicked people righteous. Both bring a curse. When you rebuke wicked people, it brings delight and YAHWEH’S blessings. Right answers let people know they said something beneficial to the hearer.

The Law showed Solomon Elohiym’s wisdom in judgment.

Deuteronomy 1:17 ‘You will not show partiality in judgment; you will hear the small as well as the great; you will not be afraid in any man’s presence, for the judgment is Elohiym’s. The case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.’

What did Yeshuwa tell the people about judgment?

John 7:24 “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” (NKJV)

Many Christians judge people without knowing anything about them. Their judgment becomes biased and they look foolish. It also brings judgment on themselves.

Matthew 7:1 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. (NKJV)

Yeshuwa is your answer in every matter. Before you open your mouth to judge anyone, consider what He would do and hold your peace. Words spoken in haste bring shame to the speaker and judgment against the person who stands condemned.

Take every matter to Yeshuwa. Seek His counsel. He will bless you and you will know righteousness instead of a curse in your life.

Let’s pray: Father, put a guard over my lips so that I don’t bring shame to myself in judging others. Let Your righteousness rule my life so I will be a delight to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
