Day 223 – Justice
Proverbs 24:28 Do not be a witness against your neighbor without cause, for would you deceive with your lips? 29 Do not say, “I will do to him just as he has done to me; I will render to the man according to his work.”
- God’s names:
- YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Adonay – God’s proper name
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- Soter – Savior
- Kurios – Supreme Authority
- God’s character:
- Integrity
- Just
- Righteous
- Judge
How often do people treat others the way they’ve been treated, instead of how they want to be treated? People are more into vengeance than walking away from the person who wronged them.
Solomon told the people not to be a witness without cause. Don’t strike back or say something that would harm you more than it would them. It’s not the first time he told the people to let YAHWEH handle their situations.
Proverbs 20:22 Do not say, “I will recompense evil”; Wait for YAHWEH, and He will save you.
Deuteronomy 32:35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; their foot will slip in due time; for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things to come hasten upon them.’ 36 “For YAHWEH will judge His people and have compassion on His servants, when He sees that their power is gone, and there is no one remaining, bond or free.
What were you like before you said yes to Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios? Did you take matters into your own hands, or did you walk away? Most of the time, you did what people do, took matters into your hands and then have your parents or someone else tell you the Golden Rule, or quote the sticks and stones platitude you didn’t want to hear.
Matthew 7:12 “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. (NKJV)
Hebrews 10:30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says Adonay. And again, “YAHWEH will judge His people.”
When you let Yeshuwa do what He promised — take care of your enemies and those who bully you, you will find His justice is better than what you considered as an act of revenge.
What are you facing today? Give it to Yeshuwa. Let Him know how you feel, not because He doesn’t know, but He wants you to trust Him and pray for His help in every situation you face.
Let’s pray: Father, help me to put every situation, every painful interaction with others into Your hands. Shelter me under Your wings and let me see Your justice. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
