The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me is to show me the redemptive love of Jesus Christ.

I grew up in a home where my family went to church every Sunday. I went to parochial school. I was part of the choir and sung in church and at funerals. Scripture was always front and center in my life. But it wasn’t until a neighbor of my parents showed me that going to church did not guarantee that you would go to heaven when you die. What it showed me was that I had a good foundation. My new friend, showed me the path to salvation, and I embraced it when I finally realized there was nothing I could do to get to heaven on my own. Not all the Scripture memorization, not going to church every Sunday, not living a good life. The only thing that could save me was a full acceptance of Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord.

This was the kindest thing anyone ever did for me – Showing me Jesus’ redemptive love.

Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (NKJV)

What is the kindest thing anyone ever did for you? Thank you for reading.
