What have you done too much of that you find the experience mundane and unappealing? What troubles do you find helpful, even though the situation is serious? People go through seasons in their lives. Too much of a good thing becomes boring. While seasons of poor finances or poor health can make you thankful for what you have.
Solomon was the wealthiest person of his day and probably any day. He had everything a person could want and saw the problem of having too much and the value in the troubles people faced. Plenty drove them away from YAHWEH, while want drives them to YAHWEH. People with needs were grateful for what they received.
Psalm 42:1 (To the Chief Musician. A Contemplation of the sons of Korah.) As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O Elohiym. 2 My soul thirsts for Elohiym, for the living El. When shall I come and appear before Elohiym? 3 My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, “Where is your Elohiym?” 4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of Elohiym, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in Elohiym, for I will yet praise Him for the help of His countenance. 6 O my Elohiym, my soul is cast down within me; therefore, I will remember You from the land of the Jordan, and from the heights of Hermon, from the Hill Mizar. 7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and billows have gone over me. 8 YAHWEH will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song will be with me—A prayer to the Elohiym of my life. 9 I will say to Elohiym my Rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” 10 As with a breaking of my bones, my enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long, “Where is your Elohiym?” 11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in Elohiym; for I will yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my Elohiym.
When life looks bitter, trusting YAHWEH can change your outlook to one of hope.
Did trouble and hopelessness bring you to Yeshuwa? Did you find you could trust Him with your circumstances because you could do nothing on your own? Did you continue to rely on Yeshuwa, or did you become so full of His blessings that you were no longer grateful?
It might seem ridiculous to be too full of Yeshuwa’s blessings, but Christians start taking Yeshuwa for granted. They no longer seek Him and their souls suffer. What did Yeshuwa tell the people in the Sermon on the Mount?
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Your soul will delight in the goodness of Yeshuwa. Every morning your soul hungers for His Word to fill you and show you that no matter what trials you go through, Yeshuwa will always take care of you.
Do not become so full, so complacent with His blessings, that you do not see the joy of His presence and how He helps you throughout the day.
Praise brings you into His presence, and His presence brings you through the valley and ignites your soul with hope in trying times.
The song lyrics are: Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your blessings see what God has done.
What has Yeshuwa done for you today? Don’t be too full of His blessings that you take them for granted and can’t see what He has done for you today.
Let’s pray: Father, I long for Your blessings as a deer longs for water in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Fill me today with Your blessings and help me to see them and not take your blessings for granted. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
