Day 251 – Wisdom

Proverbs 27:22 Though you grind a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with crushed grain, yet his foolishness will not depart from him.

• Christos – Anointed One, Messiah

• Kurios – Supreme Authority
• Theos – Supreme Divinity
• Pneuma – Violent Wind, Breath, Spirit

• Wisdom
• Knowledge
• Door

How often do you try to talk sense to someone, but they won’t listen and keep up with their foolishness? There are people you just can’t talk to, no matter how hard you try.

As king in Israel, Solomon met countless people every day. As a landowner he dealt with his servants daily. He had much experience with people who wouldn’t listen when he talked to them. He learned early in his life from his father, that the only source of true wisdom came from YAHWEH, and he needed to listen to Him. Many of his proverbs deal with man’s foolishness.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of YAHWEH is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 13:19 A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul, but it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil. 20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.

Christians aren’t exempt from foolishness even though they accepted Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios. They brought their foolish ways with them. You can hear their foolishness when you walk into church, attend Bible studies, and even hear it from the pulpit.

Fools in ministry positions are the most dangerous because they can convince people of wrong doctrine.

Paul said it plainly to the church at Galatia.

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christos, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christos. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

Paul also let the church at Ephesus know that there is one gospel.

Ephesus 4:4 There is one body and one Pneuma, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Kurios, one faith, one baptism; 6 one Theos and Pater of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Yeshuwa said He was the only way.

John 14:6 Iesous said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Pater except through Me.

John 10:6 Iesous used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them. 7 Then Iesous said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

When you attend a new church or new Bible study, open your ears with understanding and discernment to what you hear. Have your Bibles open so you can confirm the Word you hear is the true inerrant Word of Theos. If it isn’t, leave and never return. If it is, your spirit will confirm it and so will the Word.

Fools are everywhere. You can’t talk to them. The best thing you can do for your soul is walk away from them.

Let’s pray: Father, give me discernment when I hear people talk about You and Your Word. Give me understanding, wisdom, and knowledge to know Your Word when I hear it. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
