Day 269 – Cause

Proverbs 28:21 To show partiality is not good, because for a piece of bread a man will transgress.

• Kurios – Supreme Authority
• Christos – Anointed One, Messiah

• God’s character:
• Impartial
• Mighty
• Awesome

Have you joined a fan club — a cause or person you support or stand behind because you like who they are or what they represent? That describes probably most people across the globe. People who believe in causes will show partiality for the cause or person and do anything to get on their mailing list. They will also do anything for the cause.

Solomon said that to show partiality wasn’t good, it could cause a person to transgress against the laws of YAHWEH. He knew there was only one person or cause a person should commit to — YAHWEH. To show any other partiality led to sin.

Deuteronomy 10:17 “For YAHWEH your Elohiym is Elohiym of elohiyms and Adown of adowns, the great El, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.

What brought you to Yeshuwa? Were you ready to get behind the only cause that could save your life? Did you realize that all the causes mankind stands behind lead nowhere? Were you done standing behind meaningless causes that look good on the outside, and many causes are good, but they leave a person hollow. A certificate of recognition will not guarantee you a place in heaven.

Yeshuwa knew the Pharisees only wanted to show Him up, find a cause they could use against Him to get rid of Him.

In fact, they did use one instance to help put Him to death by twisting what He said.

Mt 22:15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in His talk. 16 And they sent to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of Theos in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not regard the person of men. 17 Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” 18 But Iesous perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test Me, you hypocrites? 19 Show Me the tax money.” So they brought Him a denarius. 20 And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” 21 They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to Theos the things that are Theos’.” 22 When they had heard these words, they marveled and left Him and went their way.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as your Soter and Kurios, you became a fan of the only person who could give you a cause you could stand behind and could give you eternal life.

Yeshuwa will never cause you to sin or ask anything from you that will put your life in danger from authorities. Satan does that. Satan will always show you a cause you can get behind, but sometimes the membership costs more than you should pay. With Yeshuwa, He requires no dues, only faith and trust.

I am a fan of Yeshuwa Christos. Are you? He offers eternal life. None of the other causes offer more than a membership card and a continual request for more help from your pocketbook. Get behind the only cause that can save your soul.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for giving me a living cause that I can get behind — Your Son, who gave His life for me. Help me to stand behind Him and live for Him because in Him alone is life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
