Day 273 – Love
Proverbs 28:25 He, who is of a proud heart, stirs up strife, but he who trusts in YAHWEH will be prospered.
- God’s names:
- YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- Soter – Savior
- Kurios/KURIOS – Supreme Authority, Lord
- Basileus/BASILEUS – King
- God’s character:
- Love
- Forgiveness
- Patient
- Kind
We all know people who love to stir up trouble. They poke their noses into every situation. They don’t pick and choose which situation to stir; they pick them all. The hard part is to not let them stir trouble in your life.
Solomon said proud people stir up strife. Proud people believe they are perfect, they go around with an air of arrogance believing they are better than anyone else. Solomon went on to say that the person who trusted in YAHWEH would prosper.
Proverbs 6:12 A worthless person, a wicked man, walks with a perverse mouth; 13 he winks with his eyes, he shuffles his feet, he points with his fingers; 14 perversity is in his heart, he devises evil continually, he sows discord. 15 Therefore his calamity will come suddenly; suddenly he will be broken without remedy.
As Christians, you have a mirror — Yeshuwa’s Word. Yeshuwa doesn’t judge you according to your past. When you accepted Him as your Soter and Kurios, your past no longer exists. He wiped it clean with His blood.
James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
People are concerned about image. Yeshuwa is concerned with the heart. Solomon showed that there are seven things YAHWEH hates. They are abominations to Him.
Proverbs 6:16 These six things YAHWEH hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.
Pride is an abomination to YAHWEH. And if it is an abomination to Him, it should be an abomination to believers too.
The Word of YAHWEH is your mirror. What do you see when you look into it? Do you see forgiveness, love, patience, kindness? Or do you look into the mirror of self-doubt and feel like you come up short?
Satan loves to show us our shortcomings. He wants you groveling in self-pity, questioning your faith and salvation. That is not who you are. You are a child of the King. He is BASILEUS OF BASILEUS AND KURIOS OF KURIOS. Never forget that. When you do for even one moment, Satan will come in like a flood and try to drown you in your past. Your past is nailed to the cross. You don’t own it anymore.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christos, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Don’t let the world or Satan try to tell you that you are worthless. Yeshuwa didn’t die for worthless people. He saw a world worth dying for.
Romans 5:8 But Theos demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christos died for us.
You are a child of the King and don’t let anyone tell you differently.
Let’s pray: Father, sometimes the world gets so loud in my ears that I forget who I am in You. Thank you for Your Word that shows me who I am — a child of the King. When the world wants to tell me who I am, remind me who I am in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
