Day 278 – Righteous

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.

How many truly good people have been in authority? When you look across history, you don’t see many. Most will tell you what kind of leader they will be so they can get your vote. But to find those who live up to a good authority figure is almost impossible to find.

Governments aren’t the only places where you find corrupt people in office, you find them in your workplaces, homes, and wherever you find people with someone in charge.

Solomon knew that the only good leadership came from those who looked to YAHWEH to lead them. History had already shown him Saul who started out good but quickly turned to his own pleasures instead of what YAHWEH looked for in a king. Then he saw his father, David, who trusted YAHWEH and encouraged himself in YAHWEH daily, not only when trouble came knocking at his door.

When David died, YAHWEH chose Solomon as the new king in Israel. YAHWEH had told David Solomon would be a king of peace. Solomon asked YAHWEH for wisdom and understanding to rule His people. He knew he couldn’t rule Israel without YAHWEH’S guidance.

Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

When you became a Christian, you submitted yourself to one Basileus, one Kurios, one Soter. His name is Yeshuwa. He is your Christos. He is the Huios of YAHWEH, whom He sent into the world to bring the world back to Himself as redeemed, bought with the price of His blood, shed for you on Calvary’s cross.

You know that one day every eye will see Him and know that He is their Mashiyach. For those who accepted Him as Soter and Kurios, it will be a glorious day. For those who rejected Him, it will be a devastating day.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christos Iesous, 6 who, being in the form of Theos, did not consider it robbery to be equal with Theos, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore, Theos also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Iesous every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Iesous Christos is Kurios, to the glory of Theos the Pater.

You know that when Yeshuwa comes again, He will come as BASILEUS of BASILEUS and KURIOS of KURIOS. His reign will be a reign of peace, and His kingdom will never end.

Luke 1:30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with Theos. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Huios and will call His name IESOUS. 32 He will be great and will be called the Huios of the Hupsistos; and the Kurios Theos will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

When people look at the world today with its wars and rumors of wars, with its corrupt regimes, they long for the day when peace will reign supreme.

That day is coming. You only need to be watchful, pray, spend time with Yeshuwa in His Word, and look for the signs of His coming. Behold He is coming soon. You won’t miss His coming because EVERY eye will see Him.

Let’s pray: Father, help me to be watchful, pray, seek Your face, and look for Your Son’s return every day. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
