Do you know anyone who has never done anything wrong? I don’t either. That person doesn’t exist. We have all done something that makes us wince at the memory. However, that doesn’t make us the worst person in the world. It’s the person who continues to do wrong without thought or moral compass to guide him that makes a person evil. You don’t need to look far to know who those people are. History is filled with such people and they’re alive and well among us today.
Solomon had a moral compass to guide him through life — YAHWEH’S Law. He knew the laws YAHWEH gave Moses to give to His people. He knew the consequences for bad behavior. For minor transgressions, YAHWEH required restitution. For major transgressions, He required death. He also saw that evil men were snared by their wrong choices. Yet those who followed YAHWEH lived righteous and holy lives.
When Israel heard YAHWEH’S voice at Sinai, they told Moses to speak with Him and they would listen.
Exodus 20:18 Now all the people witnessed the thundering, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. 19 Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not Elohiym speak with us, lest we die.” 20 And Moses said to the people, “Do not fear; for Elohiym has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.” 21 So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where Elohiym was.
Solomon knew YAHWEH’S Law was there to show people how to live righteously before Him. When they followed Him, they could sing and rejoice.
As Christians you knew your sin condemned you before you became a Christian. The moment you gave your life to Yeshuwa, you understood you were still a sinner, but Yeshuwa’s blood cleansed you from your sin, so that the only thing you need to do is come to Him with sincerity in your heart, confess your sin, and He will forgive you.
Psalm 14:1 (To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.) The fool has said in his heart, “There is no Elohiym.” They are corrupt, they have done abominable work, there is none who does good. 2 YAHWEH looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek Elohiym. 3 They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one.
When you stand before Yeshuwa with your life laid before Him in the Book of Life, what will He find? Will He condemn you, or will He find your name and the word Forgiven written beside it?
Paul the Apostle echoed David when he told the people there wasn’t a sinless person among them.
Romans 3:10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after Theos. 12 They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one.”
Then Paul went on to describe what kind of people they were.
13 “Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps is under their lips”; 14 “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.” 15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 destruction and misery are in their ways; 17 and the way of peace they have not known.” 18 “There is no fear of Theos before their eyes.”
Does knowing you are a sinner give you no hope? No.
Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before Theos. 20 Therefore, by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of Theos apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of Theos, through faith in Iesous Christos, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of Theos, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christos Iesous, 25 whom Theos set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance Theos had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Iesous.
Everybody sins, but not everybody is evil. When you confess your sin, Yeshuwa will forgive you.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NKJV)
YAHWEH’S forgiveness is what sets you apart from evil people without a moral compass on their lives.
You are not without hope. Hope lives in you through the Hagios Pneuma who let’s you know you sinned, and you need to repent.
Have you made Yeshuwa your Soter and Kurios? Have you confessed your sin? Have you experienced His forgiveness?
Life is too short to go another day without Yeshuwa. Turn your life over to Him now and know the love and forgiveness He gives.
Titus 3:4 But when the kindness and the love of Theos our Soter toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Hagios Pneuma, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Iesous Christos our Soter, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Let’s pray: Father, I know I am a sinner. I need Your salvation. Wash me in the blood of Your Son and cleanse me from all unrighteousness so that I may stand before You forgiven as Your dear child. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
