Day 289 – Provision
Proverbs 29:13 The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: YAHWEH gives light to the eyes of both.
God’s names:
- YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Elohiym – Supreme God
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- Pater/Abba – Father
- Kurios – Supreme Authority, Lord
- Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
- God’s character:
- Wisdom
- Understanding
- Provider
Poor people blame their employer, the government, their landlord for everything wrong with them. The oppressor sees opportunities and goes after them, making wise investments. Both the poor person and the oppressor have the same opportunities in life. One knows how to go after what he desires.
Solomon was a fair and wise king and landlord. He knew where his wisdom and understanding came from — YAHWEH. He saw how YAHWEH gave everyone the same opportunities, but only those who trusted in YAHWEH didn’t blame their circumstances on someone else.
Proverbs 22:2 The rich and the poor have this in common; YAHWEH is the maker of them all.
One thing many Christians overlook when they’re looking at their circumstances is that Yeshuwa doesn’t change weather patterns or the law of physics to benefit Christians only. Sometimes it might look like non-Christians get all the luck while your pockets remain empty. It might look like everything you touch turns to dust while your neighbor who doesn’t go to church just bought the latest toy for their garage.
Yeshuwa told the people that it rains on the just and unjust alike. Elohiym is no respecter of persons.
Matthew 5:43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You should love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Pater in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore, you should be perfect, just as your Pater in heaven is perfect.
When was the last time you gave your life and circumstances completely into Yeshuwa’s hands and didn’t blame someone or something else for your troubles?
Christians are no different from non-Christians. They like to find reasons why their life is stacking against them. Instead of looking for a scapegoat, pray.
When you turn over your situation to Yeshuwa and look to Him for your answers and not your circumstances, you will see clearly that Yeshuwa takes care of everyone in the same way.
Christians like to think they have the advantage, but realistically there is no advantage. Yeshuwa gives wisdom and understanding to everyone. It rains on your garden the same as it does on someone else’s. The only difference is when you take your troubles to Yeshuwa and let Him take care of you.
2 Chronicles 7:12 Then YAHWEH appeared to Solomon by night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. 13 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
His promise is to take care of you when you place your trust in Him and pray not blame. Then you will see the results of your prayers. You will see how He takes care of you. It isn’t the size of your bank account that Yeshuwa looks at. It’s your heart. He takes care of all your needs according to His riches in Yeshuwa Christos.
What did Paul say about his circumstances?
Philippians 4:10 But I rejoiced in Kurios greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things, I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christos who strengthens me.
Paul commended the people of Thessalonica for the help they gave him and told them Theos would provide for them.
Philippians 4:16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. 18 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to Theos. 19 And my Theos will supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christos Iesous.
When you help others, regardless of your circumstances Yeshuwa will bless you. He will not withhold His hand from you but will bless you because you bless others.
Don’t blame others for your troubles. Give them to Yeshuwa. He helps everyone, just and unjust alike.
Let’s pray: Father, help me to give everything into Your hands and not seek to blame others or things for the trouble in my life. Remind me that You take care of everyone alike. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
