There have been wicked people since sin entered the world. Cain killed his brother Abel, and we had the first recorded murder. Wickedness won’t go away, but what happens when you see it in your neighborhood, do you tell yourself wickedness is increasing? Wickedness has always been there. What you want to see is for wickedness to be put down like a rabid dog.

Solomon saw wickedness everywhere he looked. But he also saw good people. In observing people, he also saw wicked people fall under their own transgressions. He knew righteous people who trusted YAHWEH would see the destruction of the wicked.

Psalm 37:1 (A Psalm of David.) Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2 For they will soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in YAHWEH and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in YAHWEH, and He will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to YAHWEH, trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass. 6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in YAHWEH and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger and forsake wrath; do not fret—it only causes harm. 9 For evildoers will be cut off; but those who wait on YAHWEH, they will inherit the earth. 10 For yet a little while and the wicked will be no more; indeed, you will look carefully for his place, but it will be no more. 11 But the meek will inherit the earth and will delight themselves in the abundance of peace. 12 The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. 13 Adonay laughs at him, for He sees that his day is coming. 14 The wicked have drawn the sword and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who are of upright conduct. 15 Their sword will enter their own heart, and their bows will be broken. 16 A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked. 17 For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but YAHWEH upholds the righteous. 18 YAHWEH knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance will be forever. 19 They will not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they will be satisfied. 20 But the wicked will perish; and the enemies of YAHWEH, like the splendor of the meadows, will vanish. Into smoke they will vanish away. 21 The wicked borrows and does not repay, but the righteous shows mercy and gives. 22 For those blessed by Him will inherit the earth, but those cursed by Him will be cut off. 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by YAHWEH, and He delights in his way. 24 Though he fall, he will not be utterly cast down; for YAHWEH upholds him with His hand. 25 I have been young and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread. 26 He is ever merciful and lends; and his descendants are blessed. 27 Depart from evil and do good; and dwell forevermore. 28 For YAHWEH loves justice and does not forsake His saints; they are preserved forever, but the descendants of the wicked will be cut off. 29 The righteous will inherit the land, and dwell in it forever. 30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of justice. 31 The law of his Elohiym is in his heart; none of his steps will slide. 32 The wicked watches the righteous and seeks to slay him. 33 YAHWEH will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged. 34 Wait on YAHWEH, and keep His way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it. 35 I have seen the wicked in great power and spreading himself like a native green tree. 36 Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more; indeed, I sought him, but he could not be found. 37 Mark the blameless man and observe the upright; for the future of that man is peace. 38 But the transgressors will be destroyed together; the future of the wicked will be cut off. 39 But the salvation of the righteous is from YAHWEH; He is their strength in the time of trouble. 40 And YAHWEH will help them and deliver them; He will deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.

When you said yes to Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, you recognized wickedness in people, you also saw good people. At first, you wanted to do something about what you saw. You didn’t want their wickedness to touch you or your family.

However, you learned to wait. Why? Because Elohiym promised in His Word that He would destroy the wicked.

It’s not easy to wait when everything in you wants to get back at what others did to you or your family. You want to take matters in your own hand.

What did Yeshuwa say about wickedness?

Luke 10:17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Kurios, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Yeshuwa saw Satan fall from heaven. Then He told His disciples they had the same power as He does. The only thing you need is His name — Yeshuwa, and you can defeat wickedness when it comes against you.

David in the psalm above said that the meek will inherit the earth, not the wicked. Elohiym would destroy the wicked.

The hardest thing you can do is wait for someone to work for you. Yet Yeshuwa promises to take care of you and destroy your enemies. He already defeated your enemy, Satan, on the cross. He has no power over you unless you give it to him by not waiting for Yeshuwa to take care of you.

Isaiah 40:28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Owlam Elohiym, YAHWEH, The Bara’ of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths will faint and be weary, and the young men will utterly fall, 31 but those who wait on YAHWEH will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint.

Yeshuwa gives you strength to wait for Him to destroy your enemies. He gives you power over your enemies with His Name.

Yeshuwa defeated Satan. He has no power over you. Yeshuwa judged wickedness on the cross. Your power is in His name. Solomon said the righteous will see wickedness fall. When you use His name, and wait for Him to destroy wickedness, you see wickedness fall.

Let’s pray: Father, You know I cannot defeat Satan in my strength, though I have tried. Help me rely on You and Your promises when wickedness reaches into my life and my family. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
